Fave beauty trend - Day Six

Been a while since I've posted but here's my latest one.

I've been thinking about this beauty trend for a while things like floral, pastels etc but I decided not to go with a trend as such but to go with a product that since I was a kid has just boomed. And that is nails. Now back when I was a wee one you could buy nail polish and stick on nails but they were all the same mundane colours that everyone else had seen over again, and the false nails hardly stayed on.

But in recent years many new nail trends have began and I've been testing alot of them out. Granted my nails aren't the best but hey I'm working on it. Anyway my nail polish collection is pretty massive from all the birthdays and Christmas'.

Heres a look at it.

Recently I've been trying to build up my Avon collection of nail polish because I find Avon polish to have a full range of colours and even types of nail polish. It also is great value for money ultra quick at drying (30seconds) and super quality.

As you can see I'm a bit mad for the bright colours especially of late.

So here are some of the best easy to do at home nail trends that have only recently became as we'll known as they are.

Nail wraps

Who needs a manicurist when you can buy professionally looking nail wraps which are applied within minutes? These nail wraps although dont stay on as long as I'd like they are pretty and come in all sorts of styles and not only that but they are great to use on your toenails too. No hassle of stains to your quilt or clothes and you can buy them relatively cheap.

Primark -£1

Crackle nail polish

I absolutely love this product especially a dark crackle with a neon underlay it looks brilliant. Although what I will say is be careful on the brand and read reviews. I bought the Avon mosaic mica and it worked fantastic, but I have another two one works great but is very clumpy and messy to apply the other just doesn't crackle so recommend you read the reviews for the best buy.

Avon - mosaic mica £3

Magnetic nail polish

These nail polishes I find very interesting and I really want to know the science behind how this actually works. With these you can create funky designs by holding the magnet over the slightly wet nail polish and Tada! Not only does it look fab but its an understated look that can be worn to work without your nails looking over the top.

3D manicure balls

This trend has only been noticed by me recently and it seems everyone is raving about them I love the look try gie but find they are very bad at just falling of your nails. I've done a full review on this here. http://bewhoyouareinyourheart.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/academy-of-colour-3d-manicure.html?m=1

False nails

Finally false nails I love the fact I can get longer looking nails and without the hassle of waiting for them to grow. Now more than ever they have better designs and last for much longer. However only caution the glues are really good so if they get anywhere it either takes forever to get of skin causing the skin to become hard and nasty or they permanently ruin clothing etc.

Day five - me at my best

Like every girl who has ever dreamt of being a princess or hoped she would one day look half as beautiful as the Disney princess' my prom night was the prefect opportunity to feel like that.

Now even though I didn't go with a prince I can hand on heart say I looked beautiful and I genuinely don't say that often.

This is the best photo I can get o my dress and me and this was a free gift as part of my prom ticket.

Alot of people go to prom in £800 dresses but I'm not someone who wants to pay that much money. So I headed to a few places and looked for a bargain. Near where I lived in Whitley bay there was a nice little bridal store doing a great deal on prom dresses. I first tried on a quilted red dress which being short I looked really chubby in. Then I trie on the dress I went to the prom with. I knew I wanted a big poofy princess dress and I knew I wanted it long. The fact that it was £100 just made my day. I bought some plain baby pink high heels that matched my dress from new look and of course a lush tiara.

For my hair I curled it all bar the fringe and clipped it all back so that it was a bridal type look. I had my grandmas crystal necklace on because I wanted her to be a part of my night.

I had smokey eyes and a plain lip gloss on and looking back I wasn't over done in the makeup department but I didn't care it was the happiest night id had and he prettiest I've looked even to this day. Hope you enjoyed.

Smokey eyes tutorial

So I've been absent for a few days due to a rush of busy bodiness but all is restored now. Here is my smokey eye tutorial. I am using the front cover makeup set that I got from Christmas don't worry if you don't have it just getting similar shades will do just fine.

So firstly I added 'vanilla ice' to the base of my eye kid all the way up to the eyebrows and along to the corner of the eyes.

I then added a black to half of my lid and made sure it was lighter the closer I got to the middle of the lid.

I finished off by adding a silvery colour to the rest of the lid blending it in.

Finally add eyeliner to the inside of the lid and to the outside of both the top and bottom lid. To make sure the mascara is in tune with the rest of the eyes add a drama effect mascara.

Tomorrow I am going to carry on with my beauty challenge of me at my best and lucky you it's my prom look.

Day four - summer

For this challenge I decided to do a whole look and posted pictures of the different things my look consisted of.
A flower - Asda £1.00
Revelon mascara from a gift set - Justshe £9.99
Magixx foundation - Avon
Orange art and suddenly sunny nail polish - Avon £1.99 each
Vaseline - Local chemist £1.00
Baby oil - Asda £1.00
Two catwalk eyeliners - BandM £1.00
Blusher and eyes gift set - Marks and Spencer's
Eye shadow - Avon

Firstly on my face I used Avon Magixx foundation and the lightest blush from the Marks and Spencer's gift set.

Now on my lips I put a Vaseline to give a shiny glossy look. It makes your lips look plumper and sexier.

My eyes I did a mixture of greens in a smokey effected way then applied black eyeliner to the inside of my eye and green to the outside. To finish off I added some Revelon mascara the length and definition setting.

For my hair I had it straight with a flower clip to give my hair a really summery and pretty feel.

Finally my nails were done with bright nail polishes because I feel they resemble the weather being bright sunny and happy.

I also had my baby oil for when the sun gets nice and hot. Be careful if you are fair skinned and know your burning limit but I recommend for anyone wanting to enhance their tan baby oil is the way forward.

Day 3 - skin care product I recently bought.

I don't know about all you readers but I don't tend to buy many skin care products I think the last one I bought was a Vaseline and I love Vaseline but this one was lush.

Rose tinted meant that it gave my lips a gentle pink glow and kept my lips hydrated. I find that Vaseline always gives you a nice glossy look and at a price that's affordable it's a must have for those cold chapped winter lips.

Overall go for it. Couldn't really write much as I don't buy lots of skin are products.

Batiste dry shampoo

I'm having real difficulty on this one because half of me love it and half of me doesn't.

Batiste dry shampoo - Asda £2.99

If your running out the door alot like me sometimes your shower has to wait until later on so putting this product on seems like a simple solution right? Well not so much.

When you first apply to your hair it makes the hair white. You wait about two minutes and you can brush it out however the back of the hair is a nightmare and you have to use two mirrors just to see whether its all gone. Otherwise you can get some ransomed telling you that you have some unknown white in your hair, embarrassing right?

Now when you've managed to tackle that obstacle the hair doesn't look greasy and has its natural lustre about it. But I find this is just a mirage effect as the second you touch the hair it still feels greasy. I think that it shouldn't be classed as a shampoo and more of a hair cover up.

The posts got a pretty negative view but here's why I like it. The hair looks non greasy and it's a quick fix for when you don't have time but like I say it doesn't come without its hassles.

Tomorrow I'm going to be showing you how to do smokey eye makeup that draws attention to the eyes making them look bold and beautiful.

Beauty challenge day two - lips

Omg I am so happy today I've been waiting for about 2weeks if not more for my new lip tints and mascara from Rimmel London. Finally they came so I thought I'd show you all what they are like how much I like them and when I think is best to wear each.

Endless blossom

This is the lip tint being applied so you can tell the colour difference.

It's quite a bit darker and pinker than it looks like it should be its not overbearing though. Here's it fully applied.

I'd recommend this shade for a casual day out to the cinema around at friends because its enough to notice but not so much you look over done.

Stay very berry

This one is alot brighter than the first ad pinker.

I know the difference on the camera is minimum but it's huge off camera and this is better for going out to a meal with your boyfriends family or going to a fancy restaurant.

Unstoppable red

This is a bold and daring red which isn't as bright as on the photo but really stands out.

This red needs to be worn with stand out eyes or you end up looking like you have tiny eyes. The red is a sexy red and can be used for a night out in the town or a hot date with the boyfriend or potential boyfriend :).

These were bought as a set with the mascara for £9.99 at wowcher and then transferred to just she.

Although they seem to fade over quick there are lovely colours to chose from.

Estée Lauder double wear foundation

A while back Estée Lauder were giving away a free 10 day sample of their double wear foundation, and because at the time I was in desperate need to get one I figured might aswell try this one.

My mum and I went to our local boots pharmacy and were told as part of the sample they had to test the right shade for you through a colour match. Now I'm not overly brown but I'm certainly not pale, that particular day however I did. So anyway the woman did the test and gave me the shade Ecru. I was very disappointed that I wasn't given a darker shade as its way too light for me. I prefer a darker colour.

Eventually I got used to it and began to use it regularly with a warm blush so not to look too pale (I have dark hair, so i'd look too gaunt and ghostly)

So I would recommend choosing your own colour. When I bought my foundation I really had to justify spending that much on the foundation. But it is worth the spend, it doesn't patch and cling to specific area's more than others it comes on really smoothly. I've had some really awful foundations that were too patchy and hard to evenly layer. Not only that but some of them stunk and would irritate my nose, putting me off using them. Again this is not one of those.

The foundation lasts for a good six months so I would say go out and get some tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm going to be looking at batiste dry shampoo.

Beauty challenge.

So this is my beauty challenge I'll be following the following schedule.

So today is my favourite makeup brand. Now I'm a little biased because I actually sell Avon but it means I get a more intimate look at the products. I've been getting loads of samples of lipsticks and foundations etc.

The mascaras are particularly good there are so many types and you can chose according to day or night. Longer super extend for the night and infintize for during the day. The lipstick and nail polishes come in a rainbow of different colours lasting months and its not like the products are expensive either.

I could rave about Avon all day because the makeup products are a huge variety so it suits everyone.

Here are some of the makeup I own from Avon.

Hope you enjoyed!!

Junk hair heat protector spray

I love my hair I'm always dying it or getting it cut into different styles. So finding a good heat protector spray is vital for me. I've tried the likes of V05 but I find that the serums were really easy to over use in your hair.

Anyway one day by chance I found this lying around my room probably got it for Christmas and forgotten it was there.

Junk hair heat protector spray - idobeauty4u.co.uk £2.99

Since I'd never used a spray I was totally dubious. But I loved it! It made my hair look ultra shiny and definitely was doing its job.

Personally I don't have dry hair so at times it can make my hair go greasy feeling, but if you have dryer hair this doesn't happen. So for this product you really need to get to know what the right amount is for your hair.

The product does make straightners and curlers sizzle if you use straight after spraying so spray from about 20-30cm away and wait 5 minutes before you do your hair. This product is such a bargain buy and a must for anyone who is using heat stylers on their hair regularly.

Little note to everyone I'm now doing the 30 day beauty challenge which will feature as a second post for today and the rest of the month and I'm also taking part in the thirty day snap challenge which you can check out on my Instagram, Facebook and twitter.

Academy of colour 3D manicure

As promised here is my review of colour of academy 3D manicure.

I first saw another version of this product from a well known brand and it was a huge £18 and I couldn't justify spending that much on nail polish. So imagine my delight when I found this one for £1.99!! Obviously I bought it and I'm now testing it for the benefit of you guys!!

Academy of colour 3D manicure - Savers £1.99

Now in the test I used two acrylic nails because my nails are not nearly long enough to be using in a test.

So the process itself is pretty simple you paint the base nail polish onto the nails.
Then add the beads. I used two techniques to test the fastest way to apply the beads.

Pouring

Dipping the nails into the beads
It's much faster to dip the beads in and it catches more of the beads onto the nail than pouring them on.

After all nails are covered you don't to worry about the hassle of the beads either as you just pour the beads into a funnel and into the pot.

The nails overall look funky and are great for a night out in town or a party. However the beads fall off quickly and between one and three days they are completely gone. By adding a coat of clear overcoat the beads last much longer up to about 7 days!

I would recommend this as its cheap easy to use and will attract attention to your nails!

Tomorrow look out for my post on Junk hair heat protector by Gum salon.
